To get a HEART Certificate in Couple Therapy, participants go through a two-level training over the course of 10 weeks each.
During Level 1, participants acquire the theoretical framework of the HEART approach. The theory provides participants integrated knowledge and understandings of key principles in couple therapy. HEART Level 1 participants complete practicums where they learn the application of HEART theory. The experiential and practical learning of this course allows participants to acquire the application tools they need to enhance their practice. By the end of Level 1, participants will have learned ample background theory and developed a HEART toolbox. This allows them to implement the theory with their clients and give them the foundation to move onto Level 2.
During Level 2, mental health professionals deepen their HEART practice by engaging in in-depth practicums that build on knowledge learned in Level 1. Level 2 allows the participant to develop a personalized structure to couple therapy that will enhance their practice with their clients’ relational spaces. By the end of Level 2, professionals will have complemented their theory knowledge with copious amounts of practice. This process equips and allows them to embark their clients onto a journey towards self-actualization, authentic love and abundance.
